“Two childhood best friends, Maya and Anjali, join UCLA’s competitive Bollywood-fusion dance team, only to discover that the road to winning the U.S. Championship is far more raucous and cutthroat than they ever imagined.”

I spoke with the incredibly talented cast of Netflix’s new competition dance comedy, “Best of the Best”—including stars Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Priyanka Kedia, Chaneil Kular and Ankur Rathee, along with writer, producer and comedian Hasan Minhaj!

Think “Bring It On” and “Pitch Perfect” meets Bollywood dance! But this film is about so much more than its incredible choreography. At the heart of it, is a fun and beautiful story about ambition, self-discovery, and the bond between two best friends.

BEST OF THE BEST streams on Netflix September 18, 2026.

“This film tells the inspiring true story of Richard Montañez who as a Frito Lay janitor disrupted the food industry by channeling his Mexican heritage to turn Flamin’ Hot Cheetos from a snack into an iconic global pop culture phenomenon.”

I got a chance to sit down with the director, Eva Longoria, and the stars of the film, Jesse Garcia & Annie Gonzalez to discuss the movie, their hardships, and how much they could relate to Richard’s story.

“Flamin’ Hot” is available to stream on Hulu and Disney Plus on June 9.
